Here’s a quick roundup of what visitors can expect to find at the London Glassblowing Gallery and Studio in the run up to the festive season:

Beautiful heirloom decorations
A stunning new collection of vibrantly coloured free blown glass baubles, created by renowned glassmaker, Peter Layton. Each unique bauble is signed by the artist and comes in a smart gift box: from £45.

Unique Glass Miniatures
Exquisite, mini versions of Layton’s most popular ranges, created by Peter Layton and the London Glassblowing team. Original, decorative, collectable glass art: from £125.

In this stunning new series of statement vessels, Peter Layton evokes the flowing colours and cool, fresh quality of a highland waterfall. The vibrant ice blues and rich, peaty brown swirls of colour are achieved by the addition of real gold and silver, yet remarkably this is one of Layton’s most affordable series: from £130.

More festive gifts
There will be lots of additional festive items available in the gallery, ranging from Sabrina Cant’s engaging cast glass robins (£80) to humorous glass decorations by renowned animator, Phil Vallentin (from £20) and beautiful glass jewellery by Gina Cowen (from £75).

A warm welcome
From Friday 22nd November until Sunday 1st December, visitors will be treated to delicious home-made mince pies and mulled wine whilst they browse the wonderful glass on offer in the gallery and watch the many demonstrations taking place in the studio alongside the welcome glow of the roaring furnaces.

Family fun day with The Bandits of Glass
On Saturday 7th December, from 10am until 4pm, London Glassblowing is host to The Bandits of Glass, a highly entertaining team of award-winning artists from the West Midlands. Visitors will see sculptural robots evolve, can try blowing their own bubble of glass and may even go home with a prize. Admission free.
