Garrowby
‘One of the paintings the RA asked me to look at was Garrowby Hill dated 1998 – a deep vista with stripy fields and a powerful grey curving sweep of road in the foreground. Of course my interpretations in glass are very different and I have explored a variety of colourways. I have found that this series, due to the vast sweeps across Hockney’s canvas, has worked well on medium and large platters. I hope I have captured something of the vibrant colour and the strength of movement that the painting exudes.’
